Ceres (Asteroid Belt)

This piece features Ceres, the Roman goddess — and also the largest asteroid in the belt between Mars and Jupiter (in fact, a dwarf planet). Here the asteroid is replaced by the mythological figure: goddess of agriculture, fertility, and motherhood, surrounded by some of the other asteroids in the belt.

This is the sixth in my Milky Way series, which will eventually include all of the major celestial bodies in our galaxy.
